Motor Repairs

At L E Jarvis, we do more than just repair motors.

We can help you reduce and prevent costly downtime, thereby keeping your business running at optimum levels.

To deliver such a professional and prompt repair service, our strategically-located 2,500m2+ workshop in Kewdale boasts a 600 tonne hydraulic press, two dynamic balancing machines, testing bays for no load testing of LV & HV motors, dynamometer load testing up to 600kw 2 pole and a 40-tonne combined lifting and capacity to accommodate extra-large machines. 

A repair service beyond par.

The repair services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Motor Overhauls: Strip & assess reports, root cause analysis, detailed final electrical and mechanical reports.

Testing: Hi-pot, surge test, partial discharge, motor circuit analysis, no-load testing up to Squirrel Cage 2000KW and Slip Ring 7500KW at 11KV

Rewind: Random wire and formed coils, both low and high voltage.

HV Coils: Hard-cell coils manufactured by ABB and Bob White Electrics

Redesigns: Full engineering expertise in-house for motor redesigns.

Custom Modifications: Complete modifying service, from improving slip rings and brush gear to extending leads or adding thermistors.

Tech & Back-up: Being a member of the ABB group we have the expertise of specialist engineers in Australia and throughout the ABB global network. 

On-site service: L.E.Jarvis and Co has supported the mining industry with onsite services for the past 20 years. Now being a member of the ABB group we have expanded these services to include Condition Monitoring and Preventative Maintenance. ABB offer testing of HV Motors including (LEAP) Life Expectancy Analysis Programme whilst providing on-line results, comments & recommendation via our (MMS) Motor Management System.
